As we get older, a lot of changes occur to our minds and bodies. The changes to our minds are not always as prevelent as the changes to the mind. One of the changes that happens in the brain is that our synapses get further and further apart. Making our reaction time to stimulus slower and slower. For example, if a Senior trips and begins to fall, it takes them a bit longer before they react versus someone in their twenties. Research has shown that falling could also be a symptom of Dementia. According to JAMA (Journal of American Medicine Association), among people 66 and older "who experienced a fall, 10.6% were diagnosed with some type of dementia within a year."

Chris goes into a bit more detail in this short lecture at Florida Gulf Coast University.
