SHOCKING Series of Houthi Attacks Have US On The Run!

Right, so the Houthis in Yemen have once again been top of the who can embarrass the US most list this week as it has been they, rather than Israel who have suddenly become the number one target. When you rock up on the doorstep of Yemen, still conduct yourself like a big I am, throw your weight around in the Red Sea, which has become a gauntlet for pro Israel shipping, you deserve what you get from the Ansarallah forces as the Houthis should more accurately be called.
Over the past year many of us watching the situation in the Middle East have come to see Yemen as the never back down from anything bunch, who will have a go at anyone, the Jack Russell Terrier’s of the Middle East is what springs to my mind, no matter how big the dog, they’re going to have a go and so two new warships turning up in the Red Sea certainly could well count as a very big dog, but even big dogs can run away from littler ones with more fight in them and the warships it seems, have run away!
Right, so there are stories that crop up amidst all the devastation in the Middle East which sometimes you can’t help but take a wry smile at and this is one of those stories and it is often the case that Ansarallah, the Houthis in Yemen are involved, because despite always seemingly to be the underdog, their success record in screwing up shipping, their advancement from drone attacks and harassing ships with rubber boats, to now having hypersonic ballistic missiles able to directly strike Israel itself has seen them become a more and more capable and dangerous foe for Israel and those supporting their genocide of Gaza. Still the answer to ending attacks, not only in the Red Sea, but also the Gulf of Aden, the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf as the Houthis range has widened cannot be ignored and it hasn’t seemed to matter how many attacks have been wrought on Yemen by UK, US and Israeli forces amongst others, they just seem to dust themselves off and off they go again.
Now it’s hardly a newsflash that the US have had a military presence in the Red Sea for some months now, an attempt at deterrence from further strikes from the Houthis headed Israel’s way or to harry shipping, but it’s only had mixed success, much ordnance getting through, the Houthis succeeding in a strike on Israel’s almost completely rendered useless southern port of Eilat just yesterday and strikes with numerous hypersonic ballistic missiles have reached Israeli territory, seemingly untroubled along the way by any US ordnance positioned to try and stave off these strikes, but equally the US military’s own ships and munitions have come under attack as well, 12 MQ-9 Reaper drones at $30m apiece are now junk courtesy of Houthi strikes and there was even a story back in June where it was thought for a moment that they’d even managed to sink a US aircraft carrier, the USS Eisenhower and it is to those US warships we have to have a look, because where they have been stationed to see off Houthi strikes, the Houthis have looked at them and seemingly decided that these ships have had the affront and temerity to sit on their doorstep, in their waters and posture for long enough, this month, they’re going to become their number one target.
So what does Houthi targeting of US warships look like then Damo? Well, in the last 5 days things have really ramped up, with four vessels having reportedly come in for the treatment.
On the 12th November, two American destroyers were, according to the Pentagon, struck by the Houthis as they were leaving the Red Sea, caught in that narrow passage at the southern end as the Red Sea gives way to the Gulf of Aden, the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, a favourite point for the Houthis to strike, since there is nowhere shipping can go, so let’s turn to the US coverage of this first, here’s an excerpt of the incident as reported by the US Naval Institute on the 12th November:
‘Houthi forces attacked two American destroyers with drones and missiles as the ships transited the Bab el-Mandeb Strait entering the Gulf of Aden on Monday [11th November], a Pentagon spokesman said today.
The Houthis launched at least eight one-way uncrewed aerial systems, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles at USS Spruance (DDG-111) and USS Stockdale (DDG-106), which engaged all the projectiles, Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder told reporters on Tuesday. U.S. Central Command has not yet issued a statement.
There were no injuries or damage to the two destroyers. This is the second time the two independently-deployed destroyers have come under Houthi fire. The Houthis also launched an attack in late September against the two destroyers, as well as USS Indianapolis (LCS-17), USNI News previously reported.’
As far as the Houthis were concerned, their spokesperson, Yahya Saree, we know this chaps face well by now if you’re a regular viewer of this channel or have followed Houthi actions on social media over the last year or so, as far as they are concerned though, their objectives were achieved, this is the line they always give though when nothing dramatic has necessarily happened, however this isn’t all they got up to, because whilst this attack was going on, they also launched an attack in the Arabian Sea itself, some distance further away on a US aircraft carrier, because why not go bigger. The USS Abraham Lincoln came under attack with drones and cruise missiles. This vessel was there to replace the already harried USS Roosevelt, which itself had replaced the at one point allegedly sunk USS Eisenhower. Both the attacks on the two destroyers and the Abraham Lincoln took place over the course of some eight hours and in the case of the Lincoln as well, the Houthi position was that it’s objectives were once again achieved.
Now you might think at this point, well they haven’t done any damage, they’ve just made nuisances of themselves again and of course we’ve got a tit for tat as far as coverage and opinion goes here. If you believe the western media and the pro US army narrative, then nothing was damaged, nothing was harmed, if you believe the Houthis, well, they did what they set out to do. They haven’t exactly deployed the kind of ordnance or the level of it that aims to sink these vessels, in fact that hasn’t really been the Houthi objective at all at any point as far as I’ve seen, though that has obviously happened. Where vessels have been disabled, crews have been rescued other than that they’ve sought to drive off shipping, deter it, and continue to act as a deterrent. Look at it this way, if the idea is to deter pro Israeli shipping, being prepared to attack even the very largest of US warships is going to have an impact on the movements of commercial shipping don’t you think? If that was their objective, then they’re achieving that in my view. Doubly, all those attacks on the Houthis themselves show how much of a nuisance they really are to pro Israel forces.
But they weren’t even done this week though, as two days ago, they sent two warships fleeing and one of them was that bleddy great aircraft carrier the USS Abraham Lincoln again! Here’s a Cradle excerpt on this:
‘The USS Nicholson warship has been repositioned away from Yemen after suffering a recent attack by the Ansarallah movement, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on 15 November, a day after Yemeni resistance leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi confirmed that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was forced to do the same.
“The Nicholson [vessel] was towed towards the Pacific Ocean after being attacked … Its repositioning will not prevent it from being targeted [again] if it is used to carry out hostile acts against Yemen,” Al-Akhbar cited informed military sources in Sanaa as saying.
Houthi had said in a speech on Thursday evening that after “retreating hundreds of miles deep,” the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier “moves either from the Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, the edges of the Indian Ocean, or in the Arabian Sea with caution and disguise.” He claimed that “in some instances, the American aircraft carrier navigates close to certain African coastlines out of fear of being targeted.”’
Amazing how different the narratives can be between what western media is saying and what Middle Eastern media says instead. Who to believe? Well the comments of a US politician also featured in the same Cradle article, perhaps offers some clarity:
‘Ansarallah and the Yemeni army’s missiles “can do things that are just amazing,” the US Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Bill LaPlante said at an event on Wednesday, expressing that Yemen’s operations “are getting scary.”
”I'm an engineer and a physicist, and I've been around missiles my whole career. What I've seen of what the Houthis have done in the last six months is something that — I'm just shocked,” LaPlante added.’
That’s the reality and the seriousness of the US administrations appraisal of Houthi capabilities. They are no joke, what they achieve by way of actual damage might be mocked, but that isn’t even necessarily their objective, however one thing remains constant as it has throughout their defence of the people of Gaza and that is if Israel get out of Gaza and end their genocide, the Houthis will end their attacks too. If the US are that bothered by them, perhaps they might finally get their heads around that simple truth.
Whilst the Houthis continue to make their presence felt at sea, the same can be said in Israel too as a recent strike by one of their Palestine-2 ballistic missiles continue to make a mockery of what is left of Israel’s air defences and may impact heavily their acquisition of all new fighter jets at that.
