BLUMENAU, WHERE GERMANY & BRAZIL MEET!

In this video, we visit the wonderful city of Blumenau which is famous as the German city in Brazil and in the state of Santa Catarina! We start our visit at one of the most iconic buildings in the city which is the city hall with the wonderful square in front of it that has a very unique fountain and landscaping. Then we started walking on the main street in the city which is the street of the 15th of November (Rua XV de Novembro). This street is full of shops, houses, and business with building that have the typical architectural characteristic of German/Dutch design. As we continued our walk, we came across one of the most famous of those buildings which is currently where the department store called Havan is located. This building is absolutely fantastic and has kept all of its original design and characteristics. Some other famous buildings along this street are Teatro Carlos Gomes, and Mausoleum Doctor Blumenau (Mausoléu do Doutor Herrmann Blumenau). We then visited another public square called Praça Hercílio Luz before heading to another very famous street in Blumenau called Rua Das Palmeiras or the street of Palm trees which is also officially named as Alameda Duque de Caxias. Our last stop was at the Parque Vila Germânica or the German village which is where the world famous oktoberfest of Blumenau takes place.
