31st MEU helps the island of Oshima recover from tsunami

The island of Oshima, in northern Japan, experienced severe devastation after an earthquake and tsunami ravaged the area, destroying the main port. It's essentially the island's lifeline to mainland Japan; and without it, local residents have suffered tremendously, enduring extreme hardships. Gunnery Sergeant Jimmy Stare has followed the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit throughout its relief efforts on Oshima Island and has the story.
