First successful stalking kill - Bear-Trax.com - Preserving The Spirit®

I have tried stalking deer over the years and have never been successful - that is until today. I didn't even make it into The Valley of Blood today which is where I usually go to do my stalking. I changed my strategy this morning and parked at the gate instead of driving all the way to the campsite. Walking in this morning the leaves were wet and very quiet while walking on them. He was chasing two does - I heard them and stopped. As soon as I stopped he looked right at me and stared right at me for a few seconds. Then he jumped toward the does. I moved next to a big tree and took aim. He wasn't even paying attention to me only the does. Upon impact he bullet exploded and only a piece of it made an exit wound. I found the tail of the bullet just under the skin and busted bones.
