In 2021, an astonishing ancient discovery was made in Egypt, just 15 kilometers south of Cairo, at a site known as Abu Gurob. Archaeologists unearthed the remains of what is believed to be one of six ancient sun temples, dedicated to the sun god Ra. But what makes this find so remarkable isn't just its age-dating back to the 5th Dynasty of ancient Egypt-but the strange and unexplained artifacts discovered there.
Among these mysterious remains are nine circular stone basins, made from alabaster, with a rough, cog-like appearance. Could they have been used for blood sacrifices? Perhaps they served a symbolic purpose linked to the sun. Or, as some theorize, were they part of some kind of lost ancient technology? Adding to the intrigue, archaeologists uncovered dozens of well-preserved beer jars, and evidence suggests these temples might have even played a role in ancient brewing rituals. Could this have been an ancient brewery-or is there a missing piece to this puzzle?
