Jake Paul once again displayed his boxing prowess by defeating Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in a highly anticipated heavyweight bout at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas on Friday night.

The YouTube star turned boxer began his professional career in 2020 and currently boasts an 11-1 record with 7 knockouts.

His only loss came against Tommy Lage in February 2023.

The 27-year-old Paul displayed exceptional speed and endurance against the 58-year-old Tyson, who was only just returning to the ring after retiring in 2005.

Paul landed 78 punches and remained in control throughout the bout, earning a consistent decision from the appointed referee.

But the bout sparked strong reactions from fans, who criticized the huge age gap between the two men - 31 years. Many felt Tyson was in a tough spot, despite being in a great position.

Barstool Sports pioneer Dave Portnoy weighed in on the fight through his virtual entertainment platform X, and addressed the apparent confusion.

"All kudos to Jake Paul and Mike Tyson for one of the biggest hoaxes of the century," Portnoy wrote.

"I should have bet $10 million on Jake.

" Not because he's perfect, but because he fought someone older than him.

" Portnoy spilled the beans, admitting that he questioned the concept of the event, but also recognized the financial appeal.

"I agree that everyone should be ashamed, but I'd take the money if I could," he added.

In another post, Portnoy praised Paul's ability to present the event.

"The fact that people are interested in this fight proves that Jake Paul is probably the best promoter of our lives," he said.

"This fight isn't supposed to be important, but here we are." Paul will reportedly make $40 million from the bout, while Tyson will get $20 million.
