BBC's China reporter caught making fake news at site of car ramming
BBC World’s News China correspondent Stephen McDonell has been caught out misleading the public, yet again, after receiving the Western Anti-China Reporter gift of a lifetime following a tragic and hideous incident in which 35 were killed by a lunatic in a marital dispute, all while he was already in the same city covering another story.
He and his cameraman Edward Lawrence, who has already been made redundant by the BBC, purposefully irritated and baited grieving locals who had already asked them not to film at the site of the tragedy, in order to get the Money Shot: being disrupted by draconian Chinese people while innocently trying to ... make China look bad.
The BBC cameraman can then be heard egging on the reporter to "keep going" once the member of the public became irritated.
This kind of report is the penultimate for Western propagandists working in China, but Stephen let slip in Broken Mandarin during the exchange that things are not exactly as he would like BBC viewers to believe.
Today I’ll break it down. This is Reports on China, I’m Andy Boreham in Shanghai. Let’s get reporting!
