#330 | Tapped for Transition... But Will It Lead To a Position? | The Political Spotlight

Indiana Governor-Elect Mike Braun (R) has named his "transition team" and the people who will make up what he calls 12 "transition councils!"

Each of the "councils" will be helmed by a "chair" and several "members." These twelve transition councils will work alongside the governor-elect's transition team to evaluate key focus areas moving forward during the transition period and beyond!

Several well-known Hoosier politicos comprise the transition councils' "chairs" and "members." However, one name stands out to Delaware County voters: Bradley Bookout.

In keeping with the rumors that have been circulating for the last several months, Delaware County Councilor-Elect (Democrat turned Republican) Bradley Bookout was named a "member" of the "Commerce Transition Council."

The "Commerce Transition Council" will be focused on "driving economic growth across Indiana by fostering entrepreneurship and identifying opportunities to support geographically diverse communities." The council will aim to "expand economic opportunity in every corner of the state by cultivating a thriving environment for Hoosier entrepreneurs and encouraging community-level development."

All that is left to determine now, is whether this position on the "Commerce Transition Council" will result in a more permanent position for Bookout within the Governor's Administration after January 1, 2025. Specifically, will there be a position for Bookout that would require him to resign his recently won Delaware County Council seat?

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey will provide commentary on Braun's "transition team" and the newly created "12 transition councils." He will also discuss the "Bookout situation," which has the potential to generate some excitement in Delaware County politics over the next several weeks! Bilbrey will also examine everyone else who has been named as either a "chair" or "member" of a "transition council" as he attempts to understand Governor-Elect Braun's focus and future plans.
