Pointing labradors bring a new level of versatility to the hunting dog. Labs were bred specifically for the ability to retrieve, but over time, genetic dispositions to pointing behavior have been bred into specific lines. This makes Labrador retrievers especially versatile. They can be just as effective for upland game bird hunting as they have been for waterfowl hunts.
