The Legendary Silkie is not one of my more "favorite" drops of whisky. Why not? Because of the peat taste that can be found in their whisky. That said, it's not necessarily a BAD whisky at all - it's actually pretty good! It's just not my palate.

So along comes The Legendary Red Silkie. The first of 3 limited edition whiskies put out by Sliabh Liag distillery in County Donegal. A whisky that, finished in red wine casks, should bring a sweetness to the whisky above and beyond what would be found in their normal offering.

So how is it? Is the peat still there? Does it impart sweetness and a dry wine type of flavor? Let's find out!
