TikTok Parent Banned in Canada, Iranians Phish Aerospace Workers, Insecure Smart Factories
Canada has ordered TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to shut down its Canadian operations following a national security review, though the app remains available to users.
Meanwhile, Iranian hackers are targeting aerospace workers with sophisticated phishing campaigns disguised as legitimate job offers, leveraging LinkedIn to deliver malware.
Critical vulnerabilities in industrial control systems used in smart factories, flagged by CISA with a severity rating of 9.8 out of 10, could allow attackers to bypass authentication and execute remote code, posing significant risks to the manufacturing sector.
Finally, Facebook is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to dismiss a fraud lawsuit related to the Cambridge Analytica scandal, arguing that past data breaches don’t need to be disclosed in forward-looking risk statements.
