This morning as I was finishing with morning devotions I began to think about the days we are living in and what is happening in our nation. My personal sense is that this nation is still in a lot of trouble, perhaps even more. And the work that the Lord gave us is to press in and continue on as ever.

However, this nation cannot be our only view and focus if indeed we are truly born again. Right now all seems so quiet that it feels like you can hear a pin drop. But that will not last for long. I do not think it will go as sweetly and easy as most hope for. There will be a lot of wrath and anger with people, and acts of vengeance. Internal political conflicts will be continual.

But what about the true believer? The non-politicized believers believe that no matter what is happening or who is in office, they go on as faithfully and energetically as before. They are always continuing in the straight and narrow path. They go on as committed as ever. There are no changes for them as they always live in Christ. The world may change but they never change because God never changes.

Do not get caught up in the drama of this life and the political circus world where everyone, even believers are at war with each other over it. Instead keep going...continue on with what the Lord has given you to do. Let the world have the world and let God have you. Keep on the narrow road.

“There is nothing worth living for, unless it is worth dying for.”
