The Hymn of the Mother of God "My soul doth magnify the Lord" → (Luke ch. 1, 46-55) - a direct quotation from the Gospel of Luke.

1) 46. My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior:

(After each verse we sing: - More honorable than the Cherubim / and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, / who without corruption gave birth to God the Word, / the true Theotokos, we magnify you.)

2) 48. For he hath looked upon the lowliness of his handmaiden: for behold, from henceforth shall all generations call me blessed.

More honorable than the Cherubim:

3) 49. For the Mighty One hath done great things to me, and holy is his name. 50. And his mercy endureth to them that fear him from generation to generation.

More honorable than the Cherubim:

4) 51. He made power with His arm, He scattered the proud thoughts of their hearts.

More honorable than the Cherubim:

5) 52. He brought down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the humble. 53. He filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty.

More honorable than the Cherubim:

6) 54. He took up His servant Israel, to remember His mercies. 55. As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever.
