Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are making history on Netflix. Both men are set to do battle in Texas Stadium in front of 65,000 fans and tens of millions watching on Netflix.

When marketing the sport of boxing, nobody does it better than Jake Paul, especially in America. Jake Paul has been able to do what your so-called favorite fighter has not been able to do.

He's negotiating big network deals with platforms like Netflix and Dazn. He's creating opportunities for fighters like Amanda Serrano, Katie Taylor, and Mike Tyson.

Contrary to popular belief, boxing has grown in popularity in America. In 2021, around 6.7 million people in the U.S. participated in boxing. In 2023, approximately 8.4 million people in the U.S. above the age of six years old practiced boxing.

According to a 2021 Harris poll, boxing is the fourth most popular sport in the country, with 33% of respondents saying they are fans.

A study found that 32% of sports fans in Gen Z are avid boxing fans, compared to 6% of Boomer sports fans. Boxing is the fourth favorite sport for Gen Z, compared to 11th for Boomers.

Boxing's popularity has fluctuated over the years, but it's currently making a comeback with younger audiences. Some reasons for the resurgence include:

Boxing's format appeals to how Gen-Z consumes content.
Social media platforms are a great tool for fighters to tell their story.

Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor have received million-dollar paydays from Jake Paul. Jake Paul is the real face of boxing. He's known globally and connected his name and likeness to a global icon Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali are 2 of the most famous boxers ever. At 58 years old, Mike Tyson is a global icon. This fight gets Millennials and Gen Z talking about boxing.

The fighters of today are not savvy enough or creative enough to create this type of buzz for their profile. Fighters today don't know how to build their brand.

Most of them don't even know what branding is. The so-called stars in American boxing today do more fighting on X. They hide behind male groupie YouTube channels that run cover for their favorite fighters.

If fighters are smart, they'll study Jake Paul's blueprint and embrace what he brings to the table. Jake Paul speaks for himself. Mike Tyson speaks for himself.

Let's look at the undercard of this historic matchup.

Heavyweight: Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Super Lightweight: Katie Taylor (c) vs. Amanda Serrano for IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO women's titles
