The CCP’s Choice for Senate Majority Leader

Senate Republicans will vote today to select their chamber’s next leader. Who they pick will have a profound effect on whether the mandate Donald Trump received – which, among other things resulted in the election of several new GOP Senators and the flipping of control of the Congress’ upper house – will translate into transformative legislative successes essential to making America great again.

Unfortunately, two of the three candidates – Senators John Thune of South Dakota and John Cornyn of Texas – are lieutenants of the longtime, outgoing top Republican, Mitch McConnell. Unlike the third contender – Florida Senator Rick Scott who ran against McConnell previously and is closely aligned with President-elect Trump and his agenda – Thune and Cornyn will reliably do the bidding of the virulently anti-Trump McConnell.

As it happens, McConnell has long been deeply compromised by the Chinese Communist Party. It certainly wants to see Trump fail. And Senators casting secret ballots for his proxies will effectively be voting to put the CCP first, not America.
