Footage has resurfaced of Trump’s pick to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency, Vivek Ramaswamy, calling for Israel to abandon the “myth” of a two-state solution with Palestinians, saying they could be absorbed by neighbouring Arab states instead.
Ramaswamy made the comments while speaking at an event hosted by the Republican Jewish Coalition in October 2023. He is one of several among Trump’s cabinet appointments to have made controversial statements suggesting Israel is entitled to annex the occupied West Bank and ought to use unrestrained force against its opponents, both propositions illegal under international law.
