Evangelical and other Christian fundamentalism is a cult. But people have a right to belong to a cult if they wish to, I imagine. But this is my problem with the fundamentalist and why I advise to escape this religion if you grew up in one of these Christian fundamentalist cults. And the reason I'm not being nice about it.
