Mark Longo, Peanut's owner, claims that agents planned to kill Peanut long before kicking him out of his home, raiding it, and euthanizing his pet squirrel and raccoon.

The evidence for this claim comes from statements made by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

According to Longo, “On the 22nd of October, they said they were already planning on euthanizing them, and then somehow you got bit through two pairs of protective gloves. It's a little fishy.”

This October 22 statement is 8 days before the raid on Longo's home that occurred on October 30.

“You [DEC] violated my constitutional rights,” Longo said, adding, “Peanut doesn't have rabies like we all knew in the beginning of this story.”

As such, Longo is now filing a lawsuit for the injustices committed against him and his pets.

“We are filing a very big lawsuit. We're going to get answers and we're going to demand them. Not only did you violate my constitutional rights, but you need to come up with an explanation as to why you murdered these animals. You have alligators that are taken from New York State and put in a sanctuary, but you killed my animals,” Longo lamented.
