Mazdaspeed Miata AutoX 11-10-24

Finally got back in the seat to AutoX after a 2 year hiatus. Here is my 2nd fastest run of the day with a 42.888 (fastest/last = 42.847) It was good enough for 5th out of 89 participants and 1st of 4 in SSM class. I forgot to record my last run unfortunately, but from this, I can see 3 costly errors here that I know could have gotten me into the low 42s. Hindsight only makes us better at our foresight.
#1 botched braking/downshift on 1st RH hairpin.
#2 didn't accelerate sooner out of #2 LH hairpin
#3 scrubbed up the finish and didn't carry that much speed compared to my other runs. Sometimes the stars don't align perfectly (or I just gotta stop sucking) to lay down that hero run, but honestly, this event was a ton of fun despite the hiccups with timing equipment all day. @lvrscca 🙌🏼 still managed to adapt and overcome these challenges to deliver another fun event 🏁

Tires: 225/45/15 Maxxis RC-1s held up fine for being 2 years old, but they give up a lot to the super 200TW tires out there. I may pick up a set of Stones or Rivals next year or just say screw it and give the Purple Crack a shot. The more I drive on the RC-1s makes it harder for me to go back to the beloved Toyo RA-1s as my dedicated HPDE tire.
