Saudi Army Chief Visits Iran To Boost Defence Ties As MBS Hosts OIC-Arab League Meet On Israel War

Saudi Arabia’s top military official has visited Tehran for talks with Iranian officials in a rare high-level meeting, as per IRNA. The Saudi army chief Fayyad al-Ruwaili met his Iranian counterpart Gen. Mohammad Bagheri at the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff Headquarters on Nov. 10.
The development of “defence diplomacy and the expansion of bilateral cooperation” were among the main topics of this meeting, Iranian state media said.In their meeting, Iranian army chief Maj. Gen. Bagheri and al-Ruwaili exchanged views about the improvement of bilateral defence ties. “We believe that cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces can be increased given numerous commonalities,” Gen. Bagheri said.
