Improved weather conditions helped firefighters increase containment of the Mountain Fire northwest of Los Angeles, which had destroyed over 130 structures and damaged 88 others.

The fire, which started Wednesday in Ventura County, was 26% contained by Sunday morning after burning 20,640 acres.

Evacuations were ordered for over 10,000 people, and around 1,000 homes remained evacuated.

Firefighters faced challenges with low water pressure and power outages, but conditions improved as Santa Ana winds decreased.

Authorities began reducing evacuation orders, with hopes of allowing more residents to return soon, USA Today has reported.
