Real Time: 6 Jan 2022 Novak Djokovic & Asylum Seekers Hotel Detention Protests (5:58pm - 7:53pm)

The hotel sits next to Lincoln Square an was home to asylum seekers in Hotel Detention. Earlier in the morning World Number 1 Tennis Player Novak Djokovic was transferred there after his visa was cancelled upon arrival into Australia for being unvaccinated. He is held in this hotel pending the outcome of his appeal.

Both protestors supporting Novak Djokovic and protestors seeking to draw attention to the asylum seekers also held in detention came to the hotel earlier in the day. I arrived after work and set up the camera to record, mostly only capturing the asylum seeker protestors. When I arrived 2 protestors had scaled the building and I expected the emergency services to remove them from the building. However for the 2 hours I was there no attempt was made.
