Int 921 with Dr Elsa Schieder about tortured political prisoners

Elsa Schieder, PhD. I have never been all one thing: all thinker, all poet, all teacher, all interviewer, all writer. That lack of single focus led, several decades ago, to my getting a highly unusual PhD - in 3 areas instead of the regular just one. Psychology, Sociology, Literary Studies.

I love truth and justice, learning and reaching people. And so many forms of creativity.

Right now, I’m almost at Chapter 80 of A STORY, which I started writing and posting this March, about someone who walks into a used bookstore and picks up a book of poetry.

I’ve also, this past year, followed closely and posted regularly on 2 men wrongfully imprisoned and treated abusively in prison. The goals: reaching people about these men, freedom for them, and justice.

One is Reiner Fuellmich, from high-profile lawyer to key figure in the Corona Committee to political prisoner.

The other is Ed Wackerman, from happy retired senior, to falsely charged with setting a major fire, the Oak Fire, and forced to endure intense pain from the time of his arrest in June 2023 to the present. No preliminary hearing for 16 months. No bail hearing until November 19.

The title of my MA thesis: She Came to the Rescue - a very fitting title for Nellie McClung, the subject of the MA, and a plot line I loved as a child, and that still pulls me. I love being able to help effectively.

That has been a major impulse for another side of myself, my decades-long passion for personal development, and my developing my own model of personal development, Full Flourishing - because I couldn’t find any model that felt adequate. That brings me to another side of myself: coach.
