Israel’s new fighter jet deal just got a Houthi shaped SUCKER PUNCH!
Right, so Israel’s air defences on the face of it are apparently going to get bolstered with a new fleet of jets courtesy of Boeing on the way, although not all are coming at once, and I’m sure they’d be cheering this on top of having US boots on the ground now to man the THAAD missile defence system they have which is picking up the slack for their eroding iron dome and on top of that they’ve got more US planes on the way in the form of B-52 bombers if not for yet another strike by the Houthis in Yemen. It seems they’ve still got hypersonic ballistic missiles in their possession, the so-called Palestine-2 that they have deployed before that has evaded Israel’s air defences and this time they’ve decided to target, as Iran has done in it’s previous retaliations, the Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert south of the West Bank, home to Israel’s precious F-35 fighter jets. Yemen says they found their mark, Israel says it was intercepted, but there’s always another missile, therefore there is always another threat, so it’s alright having these jets, but if the main airbase where you keep them is constantly being targeted, how long can you possibly have such an air force for, especially if matters continue to escalate?
Right, so Israel’s air defences. We know they’ve got a lot of holes in them these days, we know the iron dome clearly isn’t any longer what it’s cracked up to be, what Israel claim it to be, the number of rockets from all manner of sources, from the Houthis to Hezbollah to Iranian strikes and more getting through and impacting have proven this and even Israeli airbases have not been immune to this with the Nevatim air base in particular having been struck on several occasions, perhaps more luck than by judgement that Israel haven’t sustained serious losses there, the F-35 jet fleet being kept there along with Benjamin Netanyahu’s Air Force One knock off Wings of Zion and if that is kept there then there can be no doubt really that amongst all of Israel’s air bases, Nevatim is king. How long for if the Houthis have anything to say about it? I’ll come onto that in a moment.
You’d figure Nevatim would be better protected itself than it seemingly has been. A military target as it is, perhaps that is justified by guarding civilian areas more with the iron dome, or the other air defence systems, but equally we’ve seen these fail time after time too, civilian areas, especially in the north of Israel having to be evacuated and coming unstuck and so the deployment of the US THAAD system has happened hasn’t it? Basically confirmation that Israel’s air defence system is no good, so they’ve borrowed one from the US and Genocide Joe assented to it being sent, along with the US soldiers required to operate it.
Deploying this THAAD air defence system is basically confirmation that the Iron Dome can’t cope and this is a hole patching exercise if you like, which also implies there is either no possibility or no point in trying to rearm iron dome batteries, either because there’s a shortage of those interceptor missiles they use, or there are batteries left to reload, drone strikes on them having proven a dab hand at wrecking the batteries themselves.
The thing is, THAAD has it’s drawbacks still. It has a finite number of interceptors it can fire before it needs reloading, these aren’t the same sort the iron dome batteries use, they aren’t actually even explosives, they set off incoming rocket fire simply by hitting them hard enough, it’s like lobbing stones at a rocket to set it off basically, but because of that limitation if more than 48 missiles come in at once THAAD won’t cope and we’ve certainly seen volleys come from Lebanon in far larger numbers than that as a for instance. It also can’t detect anything small, It is completely useless against drone attacks because they aren’t a big enough target and don’t come in from a high enough point of entry and when you consider drones have been so good at taking out iron dome batteries, if this THAAD one parks up in the wrong place it could be in the same bother.
Now I tried looking up some coverage as to how this THAAD system is performing and there is absolutely nothing, so is it effective, or is it rubbish? I can’t say. All we know is it is there and we’re told operational.
Clearly it is not enough on it’s own though.
Now we’re hearing that the US is sending even more firepower, with B-52 bombers now heading to Israel from North Dakota, allegedly to help combat tensions with Iran, because of course Israel have attacked them again, so once more we are awaiting some kind of retaliation and Israel isn’t able to cope without yet more US assistance. Here’s an excerpt on this story by Spanish news outlet Agencia EFE:
‘The United States Central Command announced the deployment of B-52 Stratofortress bombers to the Middle East on Saturday, amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran following recent exchanges of military strikes.
The Central Command deployed the strategic bombers from the 5th Wing at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to its area of operations, which includes the Middle East and Near East.
“B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers from Minot Air Force Base’s 5th Bomb Wing arrived in the US Central Command area of responsibility,” the Central Command said in a post on X.
The deployment is aimed at deterring potential Iranian responses to recent Israeli strikes on Iranian military targets.
Israel reported that it deployed around 100 fighter jets and drones, including advanced F-35 aircraft, for attacks on Iranian bases over a week ago.
Iran, however, asserted that none of the Israeli aircraft entered its airspace during these operations.’
Israel of course claimed a massive success over their last attack on Iran, which amounted to a damp squib in actuality, though that shouldn’t minimise the fact 4 Iranians lost their lives, the message that sent however was one of here’s hoping we’ve saved face please God don’t let Iran retaliate, yet instead Israel just mad themselves look even more pathetic, and met with calls the world over that Iran has a right to self defence and they are saying they are going to, at some point, and here comes more US air support. But where are these going to get parked?
Well according to Air & Space Forces Magazine, this has not been revealed, however associated cargo aircraft from the same base in the US as the bombers have turned up at a US base in Qatar, Al Udeid which is just outside of Doha. With Qatar being basically a peninsula sticking out into the Persian Gulf though, this is some distance from Israel and is right on Iran’s doorstep if this is where these aircraft are destined. But perhaps the US figure they are less of a target there, Qatar acting as mediators, who knows.
Then of course there is the contract for these new jets. F-15s to be provided by Boeing in a deal worth $5,2bn to the US, more money spent on more US military aid. F-15s are the next generation of jets to succeed the F35, with a bigger range and a larger payload, but where to park them too? If they’re to phase out the F-35s then Nevatim it will be, but will there be any Nevatim air base left by the time these planes begin arriving? Deliveries of these aren’t starting until 2031.
Iran have targeted Nevatim air base as a legitimate military target each time they have responded to Israeli attacks, so is it any surprise the Houthis have now targeted it themselves too in which case and done so with their most state of the art Palestine-2 ballistic missile?
The Houthis had quite a successful day yesterday. They fired this missile, which they claim reached its target at the Nevatim air base and also brought down their 12th MQ-9 Reaper Drone since the events following the night of October 7th began, each of these punching a $30m sized hole in Israeli finances. Note the claim that their ballistic missile reached it’s target and not found it’s target. I can imagine social media would have been full of imagery of new damage to the air base if it had found it’s mark, so it looks at this point that Israeli did successfully intercept it, but that is this time and they only had one target to focus on too. There always seem to be more missiles in Houthi possession, there is always a next time and there will be a next time for as long as Israel refuse to get out of Gaza and end the genocide.
There are more air bases in Israel of course, they could choose to move to a different one if space allows, but Nevatim is not the only one being targeted. Israel’s superiority over it’s neighbours is in the air, so air bases are a naturally obvious target and with air defences as they are struggling we shouldn’t be surprised to see others hit. Hezbollah notably struck the Tel Nof air base near Tel Aviv last night as well, another of Israel’s main air bases, a salvo of missiles that alleged video footage of the scene shows couldn’t all be intercepted, so balls to the iron dome, to David’s sling, to Arrow and to THAAD as well it seems, because missiles are still getting through.
Air bases are the obvious Israeli target because by grounding them you seriously disadvantage them, we’ve seen how they get on on the ground because when they aren’t fighting women and children, the IDF are found severely wanting and beaten back time after time as seen during their ground invasion attempts of Lebanon, against not just Hezbollah but the UN as well, as UNIFIL posts continue to come under attack.
It's no wonder so many Israeli soldiers themselves are turning away from the fight, encouraging others to stay away and refusing to return to their posts as this video recommendation will tell you all about, morale is at rock bottom and not improving, so if Israelis themselves won’t fight for Israel who will? Get the details here as your suggested next watch and I’ll hopefully catch you on the next vid. Cheers folks.
