Dragon Age: Veilguard Is So Woke, BioWare Won't Even Give It DLC!

BioWare has confirmed that there will be no expansions or DLC for this highly anticipated title, which is basically the studio admitting it’s time to cut their losses and move on to Mass Effect 5. For a game that was hyped up as having "breakout potential," this is a huge red flag. How confident can they really be if they’re unwilling to support the game with downloadable content?

On top of that, Veilguard’s launch numbers were dismal, with under 100,000 concurrent players at launch—a shockingly low turnout for a Dragon Age title. Many fans are pointing fingers at the heavy-handed DEI themes and “woke” storytelling that overshadow what should have been a solid fantasy RPG. In one particularly cringeworthy cutscene, players are lectured on misgendering, which feels out of place and forced.

This move to abandon DLC is almost unheard of for a AAA franchise, especially one with the pedigree of Dragon Age. The lack of follow-up content practically screams that BioWare is done with Veilguard and doesn't see a reason to invest in a title that’s failed to meet expectations. It’s a huge letdown for fans who waited ten years for this, only to get a preachy, agenda-driven experience with zero post-launch support.
