IGN Slams Mario & Luigi Brothership—But Praises Woke Trash Instead!

Alright, IGN, it's time we had a talk. This recent 5/10 review for Mario & Luigi Brothership on the Nintendo Switch is just one more reason why people need to stop taking IGN seriously. They’re out here tanking scores for beloved franchises like Mario—while somehow singing praises for some of the worst games in existence, like Dustborn and Concord. Are we really supposed to believe that these woke disasters with atrocious gameplay deserve higher ratings than a Mario game? Let’s look at the facts here: Concord was so bad it had to shut down within two weeks of its launch, and Firewalk, the studio behind it, is no longer even standing. And Dustborn? That game barely scraped together 1,000 players. Yet somehow, these games still scored better than Mario & Luigi Brothership.

What kind of credibility can we assign to IGN when they’re obviously giving a pass to games that fit a specific narrative? They’re completely out of touch with what gamers actually want. It seems that if a game doesn’t push a woke agenda or tick certain “progressive” boxes, IGN is ready to tear it apart. Just look at the critic scores for any game that doesn’t fit their mold—they’re either lukewarm or downright dismissive, while mediocre, agenda-driven titles get a free pass. The Mario franchise has been bringing people joy for decades, and yet IGN thinks their half-baked favorites are worth more attention than Mario?

At this point, it’s painfully clear that IGN has lost its way and become anything but a reliable source for gamers. They’re more concerned with promoting their biases than with providing genuine, fair reviews. If they can't even acknowledge the pure fun and legacy of a Mario game, why should we ever trust their opinion again? It’s time gamers looked elsewhere for authentic, trustworthy opinions—because IGN is way past its prime.
