Matt Whitaker served as Acting United States Attorney General from November 2018 to February 2019. He was appointed by President Donald Trump following Jeff Sessions' resignation. Before this role, he was Chief of Staff to Sessions and previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa from 2004 to 2009.
