Boys Catching Sharks to Become a Man

In Tembin, Papua New Guinea, two teenage boys are ready to prove themselves as capable men. To be considered a man, both Charles and Junior have to capture a shark using only a wooden propeller and a lasso.

The first task for Charles and Junior before beginning their quest is to chop down a very tall tree, with which to build their small boat or ‘pirogue’. Will the two adolescents succeed in this rite of passage?
