Washington State Elections and the Media

The media here in Washington has been quick to spotlight two things: first, that Kamala Harris carried Washington with close to 60% of the vote—yet, that isn’t exactly the landslide it’s being touted as. In our highly polarized nation, any slight majority is blown up as a massive win. As a pastor, I’ve always held that true unity requires a far greater mandate, ideally closer to 80 or even 100 percent agreement, but politics doesn’t seem to set the same high bar.
