😁Hey Sober Fam! Mikey here with your Thursday morning motivation‼️💪

This quote really hit me this week: "The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go."

Think about it for a second. Life throws a lot at us, right? Sometimes it's good stuff - promotions, vacations, that feeling when you FINALLY nail that yoga pose - but sometimes it's not so great. Maybe you had a fight with a friend, a bad day at work, or even cravings if you're in recovery.

Here's the thing: WE GET TO CHOOSE how we react to all of it.

We can't control everything that happens, but we CAN control how we respond.

Let's break it down into Sober Recovery terms:

Imagine a craving hits you. You can't stop the craving from popping up (just like you can't stop a bad day at work), but you can choose how to deal with it. You can accept the craving is there, but CHOOSE to reach out to your sponsor, hit a meeting, or do something else positive to distract yourself. Here's the cool part: The more we practice CHOOSING what to accept and what to let go of, the easier it gets! It's like building a happiness muscle - the more you use it, the stronger it gets!

• START YOUR DAY WITH GRATITUDE: ☀️ Before you even get out of bed, take a few minutes to think about 3 things you're grateful for. It could be anything - your health, your family, that delicious cup of coffee waiting for you! ☕️ Gratitude sets a positive tone for the whole day.
• HELP SOMEONE ELSE: Helping others is a powerful way to boost your own happiness. Maybe you offer to help a co-worker with a project, volunteer at a local food bank, or simply hold the door open for someone with a smile. Even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
• SPEND TIME IN NATURE: Studies show that spending time outdoors can improve your mood, reduce stress, and boost your overall well-being. ‍Go for a walk in the park, sit by a river, or even just open a window and let the fresh air in.
