Bryan discusses how he discovered that the two Nobel Prize for Medicine winners, Katelin Karin and Drew Wiseman received funding from the NIH for gene therapy using snake venom phosphodiasterase.

He talks about the 58 venom proteins that cause changes to an animal’s blood and the use of venom for thinning and thickening of blood. Dr Stanley Cohen - a Nobel prize winner - was a consultant who helped create a new company called Genentech and how his research helped them succeed.

Bryan also talks about hydrogen peroxide and scorpion venom.

This is a fascinating insight into the use of venoms for pharmaceutical use and is part two of an interview with Nathan Crane.
