The Word of God teaches us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that: "Evil company corrupts good morals”.

People want to be liked and feel like they belong. So, when a crowd shows them a certain amount of acceptance, they may conform to any number of trends or habits within that group; and this can hold tremendous amount of power over them, which has the potentials of leading to pressure, not just from friends they know in real life, but also receive pressure from millions of social media influencers and users tailored to prey on their most base curiosities. Every Google search they make or website they visit is recorded and sent to social media platforms to shape what pages, profiles and forum threads they are recommended and what ads they see, which have the potentials to leave them feeling sad, bullied, addicted, anxious, and depressed.

Here, we reveal some of the hidden influences of social media and how it affects the livelihood and mindsets of individuals, especially teenagers and youths. We also reveal ways in which you can still interact on social media in a way that is wise and biblical, while at the same time— finding the peace that comes with walking with Jesus.

In this episode of: A MOMENT WITH JESUS, we are joined by a guest, who is a family life practitioner and integrated life coach, with a strong foundation in emotional intelligence, marriage counselling, mental health, and addiction: Mrs. Nnenne Ben-Ekechukwu— a US based counselor from the Missouri State University, who will shed light on the truth of the evils that lurk within social media: including envy, jealousy and lust.

Be blessed and be transformed in your inner man by the renewing of your mind.
