WAITING FOF THE LET-DOWN REFLEX//

In this video, you can see what is a typical afternoon breastfeed for my twenty-month-old son Spencer as he waits for the let-down reflex.

You'll notice at the beginning of the feed how he needs to suckle on the nipple for a little while as he waits for the milk to come down, before there is a clear change when he begins to draw the milk out strongly and rhythmically. This is a sign that the let-down reflex has occurred, and he can now start to drink deeply.
