Pacific414 Pop Talk Watch Party: Transformers One

Welcome one and all to Pacific414 Pop Talk for November 6, 2024!-

We recently ran a poll over on the Pacific414 YouTube channel asking subscribers after our October 13th watch party of Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety to vote for tonight's watch party from four choices that included Back to the Future, Race for Your Life Charlie Brown, Bon Voyage Charlie Brown and Transformers One.

After the votes were tallied, Transformers One was the winner with 35% of the vote followed by Race for Your Life Charlie Brown with 30% Back to the Future with 26% and Bon Voyage Charlie Brown with 9%.

Transformers One is an amalgamation of different Transformers lore from the Hasbro Takara Tomy brands forty-year history.

Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley directs the film with a story by Eric Pearson, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari to tell this films story of how Optimus Prime and Megatron went from being friends to enemies as the respective leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons.

Voice talent includes Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Keegan Michael Key as B-127/Bumblebee, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, Steve Buscemi as Starscream and Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime.

For a bit of trivia, Chris Hemsworth worked closely with voice actor Peter Cullen who has voiced Optimus Prime in some compacity since the original 1984 Transformers cartoon series to find the right tempo for a younger sound of the character.
