The Shard, a 309-meter architectural and engineering marvel overlooking the eternal River Thames pierce the London skyline. It was once known as The London Bridge Tower since it is located near the London Bridge in the Southwark region. It is the highest structure in the United Kingdom and the sixth tallest in Europe. When its property developer, London-based entrepreneur Irvine Seller, met with world-renowned architect Renzo Piano in Berlin in the early 2000s, the design was born.
The plan was to make the most of the space available by creating a mixed-use vertical structure. Since its conception in 2002 and development from 2002 to 2012, the Shard has faced numerous hurdles. In 2013, it was eventually put to use. The Shard contains business spaces, restaurants, hotels, apartments, and a public viewing gallery (from bottom to top).

The Shard's spire, which stands 60 meters tall, houses the viewing gallery, which offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the entire city of London.
