Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, faces legal proceedings after Oxford University excluded his name from the list of candidates for its Chancellorship. PTI’s international coordinator, Zulfi Bukhari, has formally asked Oxford to explain the exclusion, calling it an unfair and politically motivated decision. In a legal notice, Bukhari’s lawyers indicated that they will take the matter to the London High Court if Oxford fails to respond.

Sources indicate that the university deemed Khan ineligible due to his recent sentencing and imprisonment in the Toshakhana case. However, Bukhari argues that the conviction was politically influenced, providing testimonies from the UN and legal experts in support. According to Bukhari, having Khan as Chancellor would bring great honor to the institution.

Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, stated that the campaign for Chancellorship began with her brother's consent, with an official letter signed by him supporting the campaign in the UK.
