NBC News submitted an Equal Time notice to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) following Kamala Harris’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) on November 2, 2024.

The notice states that Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, appeared for 1 minute and 30 seconds without charge.

This filing allows other qualified candidates to request equal airtime from NBC for a limited time, which comes amid criticism from FCC commissioner Brendan Carr, who accused NBC of favoring Harris over other candidates, including Donald Trump.

The Equal Time rule, established in 1934, mandates that broadcast stations provide equal airtime to competing political candidates, though exceptions exist for newscasts and debates, Fox News has reported.
