Cap-Haïtien: a city on the northern coast of Haiti, it has a long history as an important city in the country, being the colonial capital, and the capital of the Kingdom of Haiti after the revolution (the successful 1791-1804 one).

There has never been a president of Haiti with the first name of Henriquez. There was a King Henry I from 1811-1820, but that's much too early for our story here. But when dealing with political figures, it is always safest to use completely fictional ones, eh?

The picture used is the illustration in Weird Tales (Aug 1928) for the story, by Hugh Rankin
