Hello and welcome to Catholic Reboot. This is Nancy with a special episode as we feature a little “infomercial” on a special series that Walt will be presenting starting just four weeks from today, called Word Made Flesh on Sunday, December 1, which marks the beginning of the Advent season.

And just like that we find ourselves in the month of November. How is that even possible? Welcome to your podcast, Walt, how are you today?

Before we begin, let’s start this episode off with a prayer. If you don’t mind I’d like to say a prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas which is called a student’s prayer, but I think it is fitting as you will be guiding us through your upcoming series and we should all be approaching this upcoming Advent season with open hearts and minds.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, the true source of light and fountain of wisdom.
Pour forth your brilliance upon my intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of ignorance.
Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself.
Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion.
This I ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father, forever and ever. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
So, let’s talk about Word Made Flesh, your upcoming Advent series. As I mentioned, it begins on Sunday, December 1, which providentially falls on the first day of Advent. It is seven sessions that are designed to help us uncover the true meaning of the Advent season.
Now before I hand over the “microphone” I do need to mention that what makes this series even more unique is that the first session will be held in person for those of us who live in the Chicago area. The remaining sessions will either be in person or held via zoom. So this is exciting in itself because you get to take Catholic Reboot “on the road” so to speak.
So I’ll start right off with a two-part question. Tell me, what gave you the idea of Word Made Flesh and why do you believe that so many of us struggle with our spiritual lives as we approach the Advent season?
(Walt)
The sessions are 90 minutes long and you have seven of them planned. Without giving us too much of your presentation information - I mean, we don’t want to have to give a spoiler alert - why these seven topics?
(Walt)
So let’s look at the logistics of the series. How can I sign up and what does student participation look like? In other words, what can I expect to experience as a “student” taking part in this series?
(Walt)

Finally, how would you advise someone who really wants to participate every Sunday, but finds that they just can’t commit to seven sessions in a row?

(Walt)

Word Made Flesh again, begins on Sunday, December 1 and you will find the registration on the Catholic Reboot Facebook page and in the show notes. Walt, thank you, we look forward to hearing from you this Advent through this series and thank you for thinking of those of us who not only desire to be spiritually filled, motivated and inspired this Advent season but we look to strengthen our hope, peace, joy and love, as we wait for the birth of our Savior.

Would you mind closing with a prayer?
