The lesson on November 3, 2024 was part 14 of “The Book of Matthew” study. This lesson looked briefly again at how the Devil quoted scripture, how he added and subtracted, but particularly what he omitted in Psalms 91:13 KJV where it says “…and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.” Ties in with Genesis 3:15 KJV. What we learned in this lesson is how the Oral Torah was part of the tradition that the Jewish leadership was relying on instead of the Written Torah. There is a ministry by Rabbi Eduardo, today where is a Messianic Jew reaching to the unbelieving Jew. In this Oral Torah, the believe in a humble Messiah and a Strong King. Rabbi Eduardo teaches them that it is the same Messiah, coming twice. First, as a humble servant, and second as a triumphant King. The two comings are seen in Zech. 9:9 (Lowly // Joseph Acts 7:13); Dan. 7:13 (King lifted up); Ps. 118:20-23 – Compare Isa. 8:13-15 – 1 Peter 2:4-8; and in Isa. 8:13-15 (Gen 15: 1, Word of the Lord speaks – a person). At the end of the lesson, we read Matthew 8:2 KJV which set up the subject matter for the next lesson.

The scripture reading was in 1 Peter 2:4-8 KJV “4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.”
