The Son of the Ferocious Ages!
Episode One Hundred and Twenty One.

The Eye of the Clan.

The son of Crao heard the cries of fright at the same time as he saw the gorilla furiously trying to flush out its prey which had taken refuge in a narrow crevice.
Only a little man could have slipped through this crack!

Back "Four-hands"! If you want an opponent of your own size, do not attack a "Little Man."
But rather Rahan!

Ra-ha-ha!
The bamboo violently lashed the gorilla, who, retreating under the avalanche of blows, preferred to abandon the place.

It was then that the son of Crao froze in shock.
Oh.

You saved Magang from that four-handed brute, "Big Man"!

Page Two.

The one who came out of the rift was not a "Little Man," but a small man!
You are almost as big, almost as strong as "Mamao"!

My people will welcome you with joy! Come, brother. Follow me.
Admiring and grateful, the pygmy showed Rahan towards the tall grass of the savannah.

I should not have ventured alone into the territory of the "Four-Hands"!
When he broke my bow, I thought I was lost!
As the tall grass hampered Magang's progress. Rahan hoisted him onto his shoulders.

Thank you brother! "Mamao" carries us sometimes like this!
"Mamao" is a force.
But is especially "the eye of the clan!"

They arrived in a village of small huts, dominated by a very tall and very large hut.
This "Great Man" has saved Magang! May he stay among us as much as he desires.

The whole clan rushed to cheer the son of Crao when a powerful voice thundered.

But if Rahan remains, "Mamao" will never help you again!
He will no longer be the eye of the clan!
The giant angrily returned to his hut.

"Mamao" seems very furious!
But why does he call himself "The Eye of the Clan"?

It has been moons and moons since "Mamao" lived among us.

We discovered him one day in the forest, he was seriously injured and was about to join the.

Madang's irony triggers the giant's fury!

Rahan had anticipated this reaction from the colossus.
He did more than just dodge the attack!

But the giant was more agile than his size suggested.
He returned to the attack with the power of a buffalo.
You are going to die, "Fire-Hair"!

It was a terrible hand-to-hand fight.
The son of Crao could have drawn his ivory knife.
But the idea did not even cross his mind!

And suddenly.
Oh!
Rahan had just managed to trap the colossus' head between the Oryx's horns!

Page Seven.

Rahan could send you to the territory of the.
Shadows, Mamao! But Rahan does not kill "Those-who-walk-upright"!

Rahan wants you to know that he does not covet your place!
Besides, Rahan will leave this territory tomorrow!

The colossus seemed to understand that he had misunderstood Rahan's intentions.
His face lit up.
And where will you go "Fire-Hair"?

Rahan will go in the direction his knife indicates.

Or if you try to escape us, you will be killed! What do you decide?

Mamao, dejected, came out of his hut.
The clan will now have "Two-eyes", Mamao!
You will have to get used to Rahan's presence! You will have to become his friend!

The clan went on a new hunting trip that day.
Sad and resigned, the giant took part alongside the son of the fierce ages.
How to escape the "Little Men"? How? How?

The son of Crao had no chance of escaping the pygmies, who were constantly watching him!
But suddenly.

Rahan and the giant had just caught a glimpse, in the distance, of a large buffalo that the "Little Men" could not see.
Something in sight? A danger?

No. Nothing. Let us move on!
Mamao had given Rahan a knowing wink. And Rahan understood. The giant wanted to cause panic to facilitate his escape!
Page Ten.

And there was indeed panic when the pygmies suddenly found themselves facing the great buffalo charging them!
Run, Rahan! This is your chance, run!
I will take care of this "Two-horns"!

While the "Little Men" were scattering, the colossus broke the buffalo's assault.

Taking advantage of the panic, the son of Crao rushed towards the forest.
A few arrows missed him.

When he climbed into the branches. And a moment later.

He was out of danger. Over there, the giant was facing the buffalo.
Goodbye “little men”!
Goodbye Mamo. And thank you!

The giant's greeting thundered, clear and joyful.
Under the cheers of the pygmies he had just struck down the "Two Horns"!

Mamao was happy. He had become the eye of the clan again.
The one and only protector of these "Little Men" he loved so much.
