Drone Captures Amazing Sunset on Grand Cayman Island
Brent whom recorded this beautiful footage recently visited Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Rum Point, the subject beach in this video is on Grand Cayman Island which is one of three small islands in the Caribbean. These islands are part of the British West Indies. Grand Cayman Island is approximately 22 miles (35 km) long with its widest point being 8 miles (13 km) wide. The elevation ranges from sea level at the beaches to 60 feet (18 m) above sea level on the North Side. Rum Point gave Brent, the drone pilot and videographer, the perfect setting to catch an amazing sunset along with some gorgeous cloud formations. The very warm, shallow waters at Rum Point attract many vacationers and locals to enjoy some activities for the day. The small finger on the island where Rum Point is located, also has a small residential community called Kaibo. Along with some amazing beaches in the tiny area, there is a marina and some great restaurants and bars right on the beaches of Kaibo and Rum Point. At the very tip of this area is a precious spot called Starfish Point. The very shallow waters here make for a popular gathering place for pillow cushion sea stars. These plump starfish look like stuffed animals, though they are very much alive and grazing along the seafloor. Bring your snorkel gear to find the starfish on the bottom when you visit, you can even touch them, but resist the urge to lift them out of the water. They are living marine creatures who need to be in the water to survive, and bringing them into the air can cause stress or damage to the animals if they’re kept out long enough. Brent the drone pilot mentioned “Once done enjoying the starfish and you have worked up a thirst and hunger, one famous little bar is Wreck Bar and Grill well know for their Mudslides.” Within the gorgeous shallow waters of Rum Point, snorkelling is also amazing as many southern stingrays, boxfish as well as other tropical fish can be seen at a very close proximity which is amazing. Do not fear these amazing animals, they are curious and love to interact with you . Don’t forget your camera.
