Impressive footage from Spain: an ancient Roman dam built 2,000 years ago saved the municipality of Almonacid de la Cuba from flooding.

In the video, the dam diverts water flows away from the settlement. As a result, there were no casualties or injuries in Almonacid de la Cuba.

The structure was built in the second half of the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Augustus. It is one of the highest ancient Roman dams that has survived to this day.

At the end of October, Spain experienced flooding due to heavy rains. Valencia suffered the most. More than 200 people died, and several hundred more are still missing.
