Mayor Adams set to go on trial in historic federal corruption case in April

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption trial is set for April 21, 2025, just two months before a competitive Democratic primary on June 24.

Judge Dale Ho scheduled the trial date to allow for a resolution before the election, emphasizing the public’s interest in a swift trial.

Adams faces five charges, including bribery related to luxury travel perks from Turkish nationals, and has pleaded not guilty.

His attorney argued for a quicker trial, expressing concern that the indictment could overshadow Adams’ campaign, the New York Post has reported.
