Old Railroad Warehouse - Metal Detecting - Part 2 - Searching For History

This is Part 2 of about 5 videos at different stages of demolition. This old railroad warehouse site is scheduled for demolition, and I was excited have been given permission to try to find and recover some of our local history, before it is gone. Initially I had been told this warehouse was from the 1800;s, but I have not been able to find it on the maps until 1911. I do show a 1909 map that had the Grand Truck Railroad Depot on it, and a slightly different location for the warehouse (error?). My hope was to find objects that would give us some insight to some of the activities at this location and possibly some of the people that may have been here. I kept coming back to this location as the demolition crews were taking it down in stages and working around the Michigan weather. I have been thrilled with the history that have found on this location. We were racing just ahead of the demolition crew to recover what was under the building in the dirt also (1/14-15), with a team of people. I can't wait to share those videos with you in the next several weeks. Thank you for watching.
