#321 | Ridenour v Powell (The Beginning), Ivy Resignation, & More! | The Political Spotlight

It's Halloween, and many spooky stories are being told. Still, nothing is more frightening than thinking about ALL of the corruption ongoing in all of the various local governments out there, not to mention all 50 states, and then, of course, the national sh*t show that we have going on!

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey discusses Muncie, Indiana Mayor Dan Ridenour's "disingenuous announcement" that he is NOT going to "VETO" the 2025 Budget that the Muncie City Council passed 6 - 3 back on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Why does Bilbrey think it's disingenuous? BECAUSE HE HAS NO CHOICE... with the Council shaping up the way it is currently, he doesn't have the numbers to pull off anything other than "eating what the Council feeds him!"

From there, Bilbrey breaks down the Mayor's first-ever "angry video!" That's right — the Mayor is BIG MAD at Muncie City Councilor Nora Powell, "FLIPITY-DIPITY," and "Golly Gosh Dangit," he wants everyone to know it. So, how did he go about letting the citizens know? Well, Mayor Ridenour recorded an 11-minute "Councilor Powell Gripe Fest!" And Hot Dang, was he mad! Bilbrey covers all the various vital bits from that 11-minute video!

From there, Bilbrey gives his thoughts on the resignation letter that Muncie's Deputy Mayor Richard Ivy gave to Mayor Ridenour sometime between late Wednesday, October 24, 2024, and mid-afternoon Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Bilbrey initially broke the news that Ivy was seriously considering going to work for the Muncie Sanitary District as their new HR Director, just 15 hours after the City Council passed the 2025 Budget with an amendment that DEFUNDED Ivy's position, along with two others (the Deputy Controller and the Communications Director). However, a week later, the Mayor made it "Facebook Official!"

Next, Bilbrey quickly recaps a news piece that Fox59 out of Indy ran on Henry County, Indiana Sheriff John M. Sproles. The coverage focused on the fact that Sheriff Sporles has yet to be charged for his "Use of Force" issues even though a Corrections Officer who worked under Sproles had a LESS SERIOUS "Use of Force" issue and has been fired and now formally charged, in FEDERAL COURT! Lastly, Bilbrey outlines how insane it is to find out that the "Probable Cause Affidavit" the State Police filed for Larry Savage is 16 pages long! THAT IS JUST NOT NORMAL! Bilbrey draws on his experience and training as a law enforcement officer to give an in-depth look at everything concerning the "Probable Cause Affidavit." Bilbrey even compares it to two other PCAs!
