ARE YOU TRULY SAVED? What does the Bible say? I give over thirty Bible verses to help you answer that question.

I. How one gets saved
a. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has also panted eternity (a sense of divine purpose) in the human heart (a mysterious longing which nothing can satisfy, except God)
b. John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.
c. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this in not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.
d. John 3: 16-18
e. Romans 10:9

II. Faith Without Works
a. James 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well (to believe that). The demons also believe (that), and shudder. (Intellectual knowledge is not the same as saving faith).
b. James 2:14 What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no (good) works? Can that faith save him?
c. James 2:17 Faith, if It does not have works, is by itself dead. (lifeless, mortal)
d. James 2:20
e. James 2:24 You see that a man (believer) is justified by works and not by faith alone (by acts of obedience a born-again believer reveals his faith).
f. Titus 1:16

III. Obedience and Salvation
a. 1 John 1: 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness (of sin), we lie and do not practice the truth:
b. 1 John 2: 3 And this is how we know that we have come to know Him: if we habitually keep His commandments (teachings).
c. 1 John 2:15
d. 1 John 2:17
e. 1 John 2: 29
f. 1 John 3:8 The one who practices sin (offending Him by acts of disobedience, indifference, or rebellion) is of the devil.
g. 1 John 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are clearly identified; anyone who does not practice righteousness (who does not seek God’s will in thought, action, and purpose) is not of God.
h. 1 John 5:18 we know that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He (Jesus) who was born of God keeps and protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
i. 3 John 1:11 The one who practices good is of God; the one who practice evil has not seen God.
j. John 8:12

IV. Abiding in Him (Remaining)
a. 1 John 3:6 No one who abides in Him practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him.
b. 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because God’s seed (the essence of his righteous character) remains in him; and he cannot habitually (life characterized by) sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him.
c. 1 John 3:24 The one who habitually keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. By this we know and have the proof that He (really) abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us (as a gift).
d. 1 John 4:16b
e. John 15: 5- 6
f. John 15:9-10
g. 2 John 1:9

Notes: Abiding; accept or act in accordance with (a rule, decision, or recommendation. Ability to tolerate someone. Continue without fading or being lost.

V. Love and Salvation
a. 1 John 2: 9 The one who says he is in the Light and yet habitually hates (works against) his brother (in Christ) is in the darkness until now.
b. 1 John 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are clearly identified: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not (unselfishly) love his (believing) brother.
c. 1 John 3:14-15
d. 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us (unselfishly) love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves (others) is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God (does not and never did know Him), for God is love.

VI. Is it real salvation?
a. Luke 12: 45-46 If the servant assumes the master won’t be back for a while and beats the help and gets drunk, when the master returns, He will assign this servant a place with the unbelievers.
b. Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven but only the one who does the will of the My Father who is in heaven.
