Miserable Cave Exploration Survey Project | We Loved it!

We returned to our cave survey project called Helheim Cave, located in Jackson County, Alabama. Right now, we are mapping this cave and have surveyed about 5 to 6 miles of it. We think that when we finish, the cave system could be over ten miles long! Today, we needed to map a short section of the cave that we had been avoiding because the water levels were too high. We knew this area would be low, narrow, wet, and jagged. North Alabama has been dry for the past few weeks, so we decided it was the perfect time to tackle this difficult part of the cave.
