Matthew 22:1-2, like a wedding feast for the king's son. How will people be invited to this party? This party is supposed to be the most exciting party of all time, but how will people know of it or be invited to it?
Matthew 22:3-7, people (the king's servants) were sent out to invite others, but there was much rejection to the invitations, and some who rejected the invitations even murdered the king's servants.
Matthew 22:3, the first wave of invitations was not the last. Eternal salvation of people was and still is very important to God, therefore the first round of invitations was not the last.
Matthew 22:3-4, the next rounds of invitations
Matthew 22:5, but those who were invited had other priorities in mind
Matthew 22:6, but some who were invited, not only abused the king's servants (those sent out to invite others), but murdered them
Matthew 22:7, and the king was very wroth with the murderers and destroyed them
Matthew 22:8-10, Romans 1:16, the next round of invitations expanded to include a larger audience, including both good and bad people, so that the wedding filled up
Romans 22:11-14, some people who finally show up to the party may not actually be chosen by God, but that is not for us to know ahead of time (for only God chooses and judges righteously). We are supposed to continue inviting all people to Christ.
